T2 tap system steals the show at Denmark’s Foodexpo
Trade show sees high turnout, high spirits and high praise for the T2
Another Foodexpo is in the books, and things are looking up for the innovators and distributors in the water industry. Foodexpo 2022 ran from March 27 to 29 in Herning, Denmark, hosting 550 exhibitors and an astonishing 22,815 visitors. The biannual event made a triumphant return following its 2020 cancellation and a period of uncertainty, seeing only a slight reduction in overall attendance compared to pre-Covid levels.
Desire for design
Foodexpo is the centrepiece of Scandinavian trade shows for all sectors of the food and beverage industries, providing not only a prominent platform but a wealth of supportive resources, workshops and lectures. Exhibitors found a wealth of new leads and eager sales, forging new business relationships for the coming years.
Most notably, this year’s return marked the first public exhibition of the new T2 tap system, which stole the show in a crowded, competitive field. The T2 saw a high takeup rate, with attendees praising the overall design as well as ease of installation and “stunning” visual qualities. Our trusted distributors predict great performance. We were repeatedly asked if there were any other tap systems on the market like it – the answer remains no.
The Danish show has always attracted those who value distinctiveness in design. This year, the organisers took that value one step further, setting aside one of its 10 enormous expo halls and dedicating the space to the innovative new frontiers of interior design. The consensus placed Borg & Overström’s T2 at the forefront, proving once again that aesthetics and performance go together in the right hands.
Distributor feedback
We caught up with Anders Torstein of Danish distributor Torstein Drikkevareservice for a second opinion on the expo and our contribution. Torstein Drikkevareservice and their customers are thrilled with the product, and look forward to what features and upgrades the future has in store.
“Most of the visitors at FoodExpo were really impressed by the design and the way the taps dispense, especially their flowrate,” he said. “It is good to have this feature delivered in such a controlled and professional manner.”
Anders anticipates the T2 making waves in HORECA. “I can see it fit in more exclusive environments such as banks, high-end offices and hotels. I have gotten some connections within wine companies that could see it fit in with their customers.”
Anders is optimistic about the current state of the market, but like many, wonders what effect turbulent political and economic circumstances in Europe and beyond will have.
A case for optimism
No past, present or future Borg & Overström product is made possible without ongoing, feedback-based communication, and we have taken all T2 feedback into account after this momentous debut.
Perhaps the most uplifting takeaway from this occasion was the high morale and inescapable optimism running throughout. Our representatives on the ground found a buzzing crowd, filled with people ecstatic to see the market return to its former self. Borg & Overström’s valued customers turned out in strong numbers, having seen an encouraging upturn in the water industry, with renewed hope for maintaining it.
