Safe water projects: JOBmeal and Borg & Overström partner to make safe water a reality
We are thrilled to announce the success of our partnership with JOBmeal in supporting The Evans Medical Centre in Kirma, Port Loko, Sierra Leone, raising a total of £1882.00 to help provide safe water and hygiene training to people in Tardi and the surrounding area.
Helping provide clean, safe water
Access to clean water is a basic human right, yet millions of people across the world still lack access to safe water. The Evans Medical Centre in Kirma, Port Loko, Sierra Leone, is one such example where nurses had to manually collect unsafe water from a stream to use in the health centre, including a maternity suite. However, thanks to the partnership between JOBmeal and Borg & Overström, this is no longer the case.
Together, we have worked towards a common goal of providing safe water to the medical centre, which had a crying need for a complete re-drilling and renewal of a well and pump.
Before our intervention, the nurses at The Evans Medical Centre were crossing a busy road to manually collect unsafe water from a stream in buckets to use in the health centre, including the maternity suite. This posed a significant health risk to both the patients and the medical staff.
Following the Water Project journey, and recognising this urgent need, we joined hands with JOBmeal to help contribute to the necessary repairs and installation of a safe water system.
Successful support for safe water
As a company that offers water dispensers and tap systems to promote clean water in commercial spaces, in 2022, we collaborated with JOBmeal to help donate towards the Water Project in Sierra Leone. For each dispenser sold, JOBmeal pledged to donate £1.00 towards the project, and we matched this with an equal donation, resulting in an impressive accumulated sum of £1882.00.
Thanks to the generous donations from JOBmeal and our contribution, The Evans Medical Centre now has access to clean, safe water. This has had a significant impact on the health and well-being of the patients and staff, ensuring they no longer have to risk their health by collecting unsafe water from the stream.
The success of this partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration towards a common goal. It shows that by working together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of communities in need.
We are grateful to JOBmeal and everyone who supported this initiative, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to create a better and healthier world for all.
