The trending growth of integrated tap systems

The last five years has seen significant change within the water dispensing market as integrated drinking water taps have gathered pace and developed a market share which is growing faster than both traditional point of use water dispensers and bottled water dispensers combined. Since 2017 integrated tap system units have grown by 35% (CAGR of 6.2%). Comparatively point of use units have grown by 23.4% (CAGR 4.3%) and bottled water dispensers have only grown by 10.3% (2.0% CAGR). Integrated tap systems now account for 7% of the market share across Western Europe.*

And it’s not just the UK which has seen real growth in the integrated tap market recently. The trend is universal, with Germany and Denmark leading the way. Are you tapping into this market?

Since the introduction of our T-Series range in 2022, integrated tap systems now account for over 20% of our business and this is continuing to grow. Integrated tap systems have offered a new competitor for market share within the filtered drinking water market, providing an elegant and compact solution for customers.

Integrated tap systems are just beginning to heat up and are expected to grow a further 22.7% by 2027 (4.2% CAGR). With such significant forecasted growth, there is an opportunity for distributors to build revenue in this area and there are many reasons why you should be offering integrated drinking water tap systems to your customers.

How to sell an integrated tap system

From compact countertop drinks stations to well-designed breakout areas, the office environment is changing. Stylish looking kitchenettes house professional grade coffee equipment and, an integrated tap system can simply be installed direct into a countertop, next to a coffee machine, for access to fresh, filtered water in a clean and contemporary way.

Coffee machines and integrated tap systems go hand in hand and offer the perfect cross selling opportunity.

How to select the right tap

Once you have found the right integrated filtered tap solution for your customer, there are a couple of purchasing options to highlight which can accommodate different customer needs and budgets.

For an over the sink solution, we recommend the T1, where as a T2 is easily installed into any countertop with a plug and play system and its integrated drip tray, meaning there is no need for a sink or even waste, if paired with a Bluetooth waste kit. For a customer looking to eliminate the need for a kettle or hot water caddy, then a T3 is the perfect solution, offering hot, chilled, ambient and sparkling water options.

Integrated tap systems can generate revenue on sales much like point of use dispensers, through rental agreements or via purchasing with a service agreement fee. Often installed as part of an office refurbishment, integrated tap systems are can also be easily fitted retrospectively and added quickly to any refreshment area, much like a countertop dispenser, so your customer is up and running in no time.

Adding to, or expanding your range of drinking water tap systems, not only allows you to tap into this growing market but, according to Zenith market research, the average monthly rental is 118.10 euros with an average sales price of 3020.16 euro per unit, which much like when compared to a point of use dispenser shows there is ongoing opportunity when installing a tap system.

Why should I sell integrated tap systems?

This means that the workings are familiar if you already take other products in our ProCore® range. Installation is achievable with a simple USB plug and play, and easy stick-to-cut worktop installation guide. As always, our team are on hand to support service engineers and to offer technical training.
